We deliver services across the ACT covering children, families, young people and seniors including housing and mental health services.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced **Work Health and Safety (WHS) Officer** to join our team on a part-time basis for 22.8 hours per week, with flexible working hours between Monday to Friday.
You will play a key role in developing and implementing our workplace health and safety policies and procedures. If you are passionate about creating a safe and healthy work environment and enjoy the flexibility of part-time work, we encourage you to apply.
**Our Offer**:
- Permanent part-time appointment (22.8 hours per week).
- Salary of $90,136.70 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 12% superannuation.
- Salary packaging option up to $15,899 per Fringe Benefits Tax year, with an additional Meals and Entertainment package available up to $2,650 per Fringe Benefits Tax year.

**Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to**:
- Draft, monitor and support implementation of WHS policies, procedures, and practices to ensure organisational compliance with legislation.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments across sites and teams.
- Assist managers with identifying and controlling workplace hazards and risks.
- Maintain the WHS risk register and support corrective actions.
- Report on WHS data including incidents, hazards, near misses, and trends.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly WHS reports as required.
- Provide secretariat services to the WHS Committee
- Prepare and distribute the agenda for WHS committee meetings
- Record and distribute accurate minutes of meetings
- Manage communication and correspondence related to the committee.
- Act as a point of contact for WHS representatives and support consistent safety messaging across the organisation.
**Experience and Qualifications**:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.
- Experience in assessing risks.
- Analytical skills.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments.
- Experience with WHS Committees.
- Knowledge of WHS legislation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software, tools, or industry-specific technologies.
