**Your New Role Looks Like This**:
The Internal Auditor is a crucial role to the Group Audit team here at Australian Unity. You will be required to conduct independent reviews both autonomously and as a team member - covering risk management, process improvement, control assessment and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Review key processes and evaluate the risk and control environment using AU GA Methodology.
- Ascertain the extent of compliance with established policies, procedures, and legislated practices.
- Improve the quality of the reviews undertaken through a thorough understanding of events affecting the business at the micro and macro levels
- Raise issues and results of audits and communicate these with Line and Senior Managers through verbal discussions and written reports
- Assess action plans proposed by Management and provide ‘Value add’ solutions where required.
- Achieve the delivery of completed audit assignments within the budgeted timeframes agreed.

**About You**:

- Minimum three years of internal auditing experience (external audit experience from a Big 4 environment will also be considered)
- Eligibility in professional accounting bodies (i.e., CAANZ, CPA Australia and IIA) and a commitment to continuing professional development
- Well-developed and effective communication skills including a high standard of business report writing
- Ability to work autonomously and within defined methodologies and timeframes
- An appreciation and understanding of data analytics / mining would be beneficial
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio. TeamMate and ACL advantageous.
- High standard of professionalism, objectivity, ethics, confidentiality, and discretion
- The confidence to challenge the status quo
- Initiative, enthusiasm, and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Self-starter with strong time management and organisational skills
