- We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Performing urine drug and alcohol, and oral fluid drug testing including all routine procedures associated with day to day running within the toxicology laboratory
- Operate and perform maintenance on laboratory instrumentation including immunoassay and LCMS.
- Compliance with records maintenance and recording of results in line with protocols
- Ensure GLP and laboratory conformance to AS/NZS 4308:2008 and AS/NZS 4760:2019
- Assist laboratory manager to ensure laboratory compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes.
- Maintaining all equipment and operating equipment in line with protocols
- Participation in both routine and audit related Quality Assurance activities.
- Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required
- Liaising with internal and/ or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary

**About you**
- To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
- At minimum hold a Pathology Technician's certificate, an Associate Diploma of Medical Technology, or equivalent
- Graduates from Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemistry, forensic science) or equivalent seeking entry into toxicology
- Knowledge and/or experience working with immunoassay and mass spectrometry techniques is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting is desirable
- Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision
- An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
- A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member
- Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases
- Ability to demonstrate sound organisation skills

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure
