**Hours per week**: 38
**Remuneration**: Band 4 salary from $78,402.48 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO
**Location**: Werribee based with potential for a hybrid work arrangement
**About the role**
This is an exciting time to be a part of Wyndham’s early years services With over 100 babies born every week in the municipality and over 6,000 registrations received yearly via our kindergarten central registration system, Wyndham is a growing community that looks for open-minded, passionate, and community-focused people to respond to their needs.
In the Child & Family Support Team, you are integral to the success of the Community Support Department by delivering high-quality customer service and administration skills to facilitate access to Maternal & Child Health services and the kindergarten Central Registration Scheme for the community.
This rewarding role will require you to be able to address the needs of our community in an efficient and effective manner, maintaining compliance with our regulatory and operational requirements and procedures. Never a dull moment in this role, you will thrive with your attention to detail, positive stakeholder collaboration, and exceptional customer service skills.
We are seeking Child & Family Support Assistants to join our team supporting the delivery of Maternal & Child Health services in a temporary capacity or the kindergarten Central Registration Scheme in a permanent capacity, ensuring that Wyndham is meeting the growing demand for these services.
Within the Maternal & Child Health stream, your day-to-day will see you processing notifications of new births in Wyndham, responding to nurse requests, maintaining the appointment calendars, and, crucially, supporting customer access to the service. Previous experience in MCH, health, early years services, or a similar, highly-regulated environment is desirable.
**What your day will look like**
- Providing friendly, professional, and helpful assistance to community members, supporting them to access early years and family services that meet their needs.
- Delivering accurate and efficient administrative support to the Community Support Department, contributing to the smooth operation of all children and family services.
- Processing registrations, bookings, and birth notifications in line with council policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaising with internal teams and external partners about registrations, referrals, bookings, and system updates to ensure accurate information sharing and service delivery.
- Maintaining accurate records, data entry, and statistical reporting using council databases and reporting systems.
- Supporting continuous improvement by assisting with general administrative tasks and other duties aligned with your skills, abilities, and the needs of the team.
**What you will bring**
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment collaboratively and respectfully, striving towards Council’s values, policies, and procedures
- Strong administrative experience, with proficiency in a range of computer systems and the ability to learn other software programs
- High-level customer service and problem-resolution skills to support community and stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- The ability to organise and control one's own workload and time to achieve specified outputs
- Certificate in administration or relevant administration experience
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
If you progress past the interview stage, you may be required to complete pre-employment screening, which may include police checks, a medical, qualification verification, and an Australian work rights check.
