**We seek a suitably qualified individual to** **assist in developing the civil and construction program, supervising the civil and construction projects. **As our Construction Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for
- Coordinating the effective and efficient implementation of civil construction programs.
- Estimating, tendering/quote preparation and submission, construction program development, management and financial management of all aspects of the works.
- Providing leadership and technical expertise to all subordinate staff in the provision of road and drainage construction.
- Ensuring projects completed by Operations Services are recognised as “Best Value”.
- Exercising a degree of autonomy in controlling works programs including providing advice on complex or unusual matter.
- Seeking commercial projects in accordance with business plan objective.
- Providing expert advice on construction matters and ensure recommendations are carried out.

**To be successful in this role, you will possess**:

- Basic Traffic Management Certificate.
- White Card.
- Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience in civil engineering and/or construction.
- Substantial experience in managing multifunctional teams including managing contractors and sub-contractors.
- Comprehensive experience in the financial control of projects including experience in estimating works and preparing works schedules.
- Sound experience in the management of tendering processes including preparation.
- Extensive knowledge of civil engineering and/or landscape construction practices.
- Knowledge of business planning.
- Sound knowledge of public liability insurance and Occupational Safety and Health principles.

**Other skills**:

- Substantial skills in the use of computer software including MS Office Suite of products.
- Ability to interpret, set out, check construction levels and locations from design plans within normal civil infrastructure construction tolerances.
- Ability to interpret, utilise specifications to manage and determine outputs required on constructions projects.
- Highly developed verbal and written communications skills.
- Highly developed supervisory and team work skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
