The **Macmahon WAC Head Office** is located near Perth International Airport, T2. The **Macmahon** office is an award-winning facility with a large, recently upgraded on-site gym, free secure undercover parking and electric vehicle charging stations. The WAC Head Office hosts Macmahon’s centralised support services and operates as the centre of gravity for the wider Australian business.

**Macmahon** is seeking an experienced **Drill & Blast Superintendent **to join our Surface Mining Division. As the **Drill & Blast Superintendent** you will manage the short and long term drilling and blasting operations in line with the specific mine plans to achieve mine production targets across Macmahon Surface West projects. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:

- Provide accurate, timely and clear reporting and communication to site related Project Manager and Operations Manager - Surface Weston project performance
- Ensure all project personnel including contractors operate safely and comply with all acts, regulations, laws and client rules and regulation applicable to the contract and the Indonesian mining industry
- Manage costs effectively, identify and minimize risks within the Drill and Blast department
- Communicate work group status to the Project Manager and Operations Manager - Surface West and interface with other departments
- Plan drill and blast activities to meet production targets at the lowest cost possible, whilst maintaining safety
- Liaise with and coordinate with other departments and set priorities to minimise unplanned equipment usage
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all drilling and blasting operations
- Coordinate activities with Maintenance, Geology, Engineering, Environmental, Safety Processing and other personnel
- Maintain contact with the contracted explosives supplier to coordinate blasting activities and ensure the forecasted importing of explosive materials into Indonesia
- Responsible for the supervision of drill and blast operation contractors and ensuring explosive suppliers follow the established procedures for blast hole loading
- Travel between Perth and sites to assist operations both domestically and Internationally
- Review and monitor project budget and forecasts and provide ongoing reviews of actual against target to site related Project Manager and Operations Manager - Surface West
