This key senior level appointment will be pivotal in the practice, providing client interface, overseeing design and delivery and leadership.

**The role**:
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and be accountable for the delivery of primary and secondary functional specifications for major electricity transmission network projects
- Review and provide expert technical advice on option analysis reports, conceptual and detailed designs, scope of works, cost estimates and design/construction delivery plans
- Assess and evaluate design and construction tenders against prescribed technical stands and specifications
- Provide expert technical advice to support procurement and project delivery processes, including contractual negotiations and assessment of variations and claims to deliver required outcomes to cost, quality and time expectations
- Proactively support Project Director to identify project risks and issues, put forward mitigation measures and act as required
- Lead process improvements where appropriate to ensure a high-quality approach to technical specifications, concept designs, cost estimates and project delivery
- Provide regular status reports and communications on the project, impacts and issues to stakeholders including senior management. Escalate through appropriate channels where required
- Lead and coordinate the activities of junior staff and contractors/consultants, to ensure that quality, cost and time requirements are met
- Evaluate workstream activities and provide feedback to key stakeholders on benefits achieved and opportunities for improvement as part of driving continuous improvement across the business

Critical to your success in the role is your demonstrated experience in electrical, power genration, construction engineering and short, medium, and long term planning to ensure energy security and reliability.

**Additionally, you will have**:

- Tertiary qualifications in in Electrical Engineering and proven industry experience with leading teams
- Understanding and knowledge of the physical construction, operation and maintenance practices associated with primary and secondary network assets
- Demonstrated detailed technical knowledge and experience in engineering design principles and practices, utility requirements and standards, construction, and maintenance required for HV infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Transmission Lines and or Distribution Infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of Safe Design principles and safety requirements for HV infrastructure projects
- Experience and solid understanding of cost estimation techniques, systems and processes.
