About the opportunity
Opened in August 2018 and located on the Ground Floor at Werribee Mercy Hospital, the Rapid Access Hub offers a modern working environment, views of Werribee and its surrounds and a friendly team of Instrument Technicians and Nurses keen for you to join the team. The department was opened in March 2023 to support the current needs of the hospital, including 2 Endoscopy Operating Rooms, and is well placed to meet the demands of future growth. The endoscopy reprocessing area is equipped with 2 AERs with four chambers and 4 Dring Cabinets.- This position is a Permanent Full Time Team Leader position based on a 5-day roster, covering the early shift from 7:00 to 1530 shift.- Primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the reprocessing unit and managing daily staffing needs. Staff supervision and assisting in cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, packing, sterilization and storing of all reusable flexible endoscopes.- The applicant will also be responsible for the maintenance of the working environment and associated medical equipment; ensuring standard precautions are followed, whilst strictly implementing the recommended guidelines as stated in AS 5369:2023 and GENCA Guidelines.

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Health - Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent is essential-
- Clinical practice and experience in all areas of cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation within a hospital CSD is essential- Knowledge & experience in reprocessing of flexible endoscopes are highly desirable.- Effective and appropriate patterns of communication within a multidisciplinary team; accurate documentation about disinfection and sterilisation of reusable medical instruments.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (on request).- Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
