We are currently recruiting for a Disability Employment Consultant in the employment services sector on the Gold Coast. If you are looking for a new opportunity and have experience in the employment services sector across any contract, please get in touch

Our client is an established employment services provider, providing support through education, training and employment to jobseekers living with an illness, injury or disability, and who face personal barriers to entering the workforce.

**About the role**:

As an Employment Consultant, you will form part of a team that get a real buzz out of helping people develop and achieve their end goal of gaining further skills and ultimately, sustainable employment for people living with a disability.

You will manage your own caseload of jobseekers, assisting them to overcome various personal barriers that have been preventing them from gaining employment, and working with local employers to find innovative ways to support your clients into work.

You will be professional and able to work within procedural guidelines, using a database to log details, notes and create progress reports on each client. In addition, you will be required to source job opportunities for your clients within the local community through business development activities and networking. The role is targeted and has KPIs around sustainable job placements that meet clients’ needs and expectations.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Experience working within the employment services sector, ideally within Disability Employment Services
- End to end case management experience
- An insight and understanding into the significant barriers facing people living with a disability and the long-term unemployment
- Excellent networking skills and be willing to conduct business development activities with local business and community organisations
- The ability to mentor and coach jobseekers through the job search process
- Demonstrated qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity and compassion
- A good understanding of local labour market issues
- A results and outcomes focused approach and the ability to work to KPIs and targets
- Excellent time management and organisational ability
- Effective communication skills
- Driving licence and a willingness to travel locally
