**Position Overview**

We are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team. We are specifically looking for someone who can support an individual with Prader Willi Syndrome (PWS), in their daily living activities, promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life.

The supports will be varied;
- Supporting the participant to the gym
- Assisting with community access
- Support with basic daily tasks
- High level of engagement

With a common goal to enhance the ability of the individual to live independently. With the support of a clinical allied health team, you’ll be expected to implement several support strategies that seek to improve the overall day to day for the individual.

You will be expected to support the participant at home and out in the community.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide support to NDIS participants, including assistance with daily living activities.
- Support participants to kick goals in a
- Facilitate social and community engagement activities.
- Implement individual support plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Maintain accurate progress notes.
- Report incidents where necessary
- Collaborate with team members and healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate 3 or 4 in Disability or equivalent qualification.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (mandatory).
- Working With Children Check (WWC) (mandatory).
- Experience working with individuals diagnosed with Angelmans Syndrom, Prader Willi Syndrome, Intellectual Disability, ASD, ADHD and OCD
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $41.00 - $44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 20 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating roster
- Shift work
- Weekend availability

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (required)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (required)
- National Police Certificate (required)
- Driver Licence (required)

Work Location: In person
