We are a new Department and seeking suitably experienced finance officers to join our financial reporting team.

**Who we are**
The Financial Management Branch is part of Finance Division within Enabling Services Group, and is responsible for: financial reporting, internal budgeting and executive reporting; management reporting and divisional finance support, as well as maintaining our financial and business systems. We provide high-quality client service, financial advice, and support to help the Department achieve its goals.

This advertisement is for Financial Reporting team who are responsible for preparation of audited financial statements, asset management, taxation and statutory reporting.

**The Job**
- Undertaking month end processes (including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts)
- Conducting quality assurance checks on general ledger records and ensuring appropriate supporting records are maintained.
- Assistance with preparation of financial statement notes and workpapers
- Providing advice, support and/or training on financial matters, accounting policies and procedures

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- Demonstrated ledger management experience using your analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to provide specialist advice, guidance and interpretation on key accounting concepts, policies and procedures.
- Stakeholder management experience including building and developing productive relationships

**Skills and capabilities**
- An ability to work flexibly to produce high quality work within deadlines
- A high level of initiative and organisational skills, including the ability to judge competing priorities and work effectively with limited supervision
- Well-developed communication, analysis and problem solving skills

**Mandatory qualifications**
- Bachelor or Commerce in Accounting or similar
- Working towards becoming a CA, CPA or equivalent

**Eligibility and other requirements**

**Citizenship**
- To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance**
- This position requires a
**Baseline Vetting** security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
