**THE ROLE**

Within Origin Energy, the Trading Support & Assurance group within Wholesale Risk & Business Services are accountable for the provision of data and business analytics and an enhanced middle office support to our Energy Supply & Operations, Shared Services and Treasury Business Units.

The assurance function is responsible for wholesale credit, contract and compliance activities supporting the wholesale trading desk and treasury. This team also coordinates strategic initiatives registered by the management team (implementation of new products, adaptation to regulatory change etc.) This is a unique opportunity to join the team as an Assurance Analyst in a **6 month contract - with a view to extend**

As part of your role you will be responsible for:

- Maintain static data in core Wholesale & Trading and Treasury Systems
- Undertake validation of all new and amended trades for Wholesale & Trading, and Treasury desks
- Preparation and checking of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly compliance reporting
- Review core compliance training reports to ensure responsible staff maintain the competencies required for their role
- User access reviews for all Wholesale & Trading, and Treasury Systems
- Assist with routine testing of key operational controls, and established quality assurance process and procedures to ensure effectiveness, accuracy, and efficiency. Work with other Assurance team members to identify efficiencies and deliver improvements
- Assist with the preparation of timely and accurate delivery of management reporting
- Successfully complete regular compliance and assurance activities as required under Commodity Risk Management System (CRMS) and Financial Services Management System (FSMS)
- Assist with Wholesale Credit reviews

**IS THIS YOU?**

To be considered for this role you will have strong knowledge of compliance and assurance controls, be focussed on process improvement and have great attention to detail. It is expected that at this point in your career you will be currently enrolled or will have recently completed Tertiary qualifications or relevant equivalent experience in accounting, commerce, or similar discipline

You have or can show:

- At least 5 years plus experience in a major energy, financial services, or professional services organisation
- Strong knowledge of compliance and assurance controls and the interconnectivity of a complex business platform
- Results and pro-active solution focused
- Ability to effectively engage stakeholders
- Strong team ethic
- Achievement focused toward timely delivery
- Understanding of trading operations and environment
- Research and reporting skills
- Understanding of operational risk mitigation
- Intermediate Excel and Access skills
- Ability to problem solve and experience working on complex projects
- Makes decisions efficiently and implements change effectively
- Displays personal flexibility and responds well to situations of uncertainty and ambiguity Experience in all aspects of analysis (e.g. functional, non-functional, L3 - 5 process maps)
