Has a passion for teaching over Japanese language and its culture
Provide fun and stimulating learning environment for students aged Prep to Year 12
Possess Japanese mother tongue or have equivalent level of Japanese literacy skills
Has effective management skills and experience in language teaching
Must have a recognised teaching qualification (either in Japan or Australia)
Has eligible working visa and willing to work for at least 1 year (ideally longer) every Saturday afternoon based on QLD school term
JLCSB was founded in 2006 by several volunteers, and it continues to be made possible by the cooperation of parent volunteers. Our aim is providing children opportunities to learn Japanese language and culture through education, enhance social and cultural awareness of members and promote friendship with local communities. The school is officially recognised by Queensland Education Department (QED) as an after-hours Japanese ethnic school (AHES). With the support of QED, Japanese School operates every Saturday (14:00 -16:20) during QLD school term at Mt Gravatt State High School campus.
