**Inbound Purchasing Specialist (F&B), Australia**
This role plays a critical role in supporting Symrise’s Purchasing and Planning functions by ensuring timely purchase order issuance and monitoring deliveries to guarantee on-time availability for production. You will manage inbound order tracking and coordinates delivery schedules with suppliers, freight forwarders and warehouses to ensure On-Time and In-Full (OTIF) delivery. Additionally, you are responsible for maintaining accurate SAP Material Master Data and ensuring all necessary Quality Assurance and Regulatory documents are available for timely product release. This position also supports strategic negotiation and procurement of indirect materials to secure optimal pricing and value for the company.
**The Position**:

- Responsible for issuing purchase orders to Symrise’s suppliers and ensuring order confirmations are received within three days of PO placement
- Coordinating order confirmation dates with the MRP Controller to proactively ensure on-time material availability for production
- Monitoring delivery dates with suppliers on a weekly and monthly basis to flag any unfulfilled quantities, delivery delays or other variances to the MRP Controller
- Coordinating with all freight forwarders for inbound deliveries to ensure timely arrival and accurate delivery to the designated warehouse location.
- Maintaining status reports and regularly communicating weekly and monthly delivery schedules to the warehouse and relevant team members.
- Demonstrated determination and persistence in following up with suppliers and freight forwarders to expedite urgent raw material deliveries and meet customers’ required delivery dates.
- Identify and communicate any price discrepancies and resolve them appropriately to prevent financial impact on Symrise
- Supporting internal stakeholders by ensuring suppliers provide the required regulatory and quality documents (COC, COFA) on time.
- Managing the AVS/DMS (Alternative Vendor/Supplier Database Management) process to facilitate swift and strategic decision-making by Symrise in establishing new and alternative suppliers.
- Managing import permits for controlled drugs by coordinating with the appropriate stakeholders and ensuring signed copies are returned within the specified deadline
- Stepping in as the delegated MRP Controller when required to ensure continuity of operations.
- Maintaining accurate master data including standard cost pricing, lead times, source lists, purchase information records, MRP controller assignments, procurement types, freight condition, tax condition and other related fields.
- Maintaining the master file of active vendors with up-to-date contact information.
- Served as the key point of contact for managing courier deliveries across the organization.
- Negotiated strategic pricing for indirect materials, including warehouse supplies, forklift rentals and waste disposal services
- Managed contracts with indirect material suppliers to secure optimal pricing and value for the organization.
- Provided support and training to other departments on indirect materials purchasing processes.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent with at least 1-2 years of experience in purchasing and/or procurement
- Proficient in SAP
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to manage relationships effectively
- Strong analytical skills to support strategic decision making.
