**Job Description**:
Our HSE Officer plays a very hands-on role, in driving, supporting and guiding our two sites facilities, implement PPG’s health, safety and environmental policies and procedures and deliver the site HSE improvement plan in line with the HSE Strategy. Further this role will be vital in assisting the site operations teams, address their key HSE risks.

**Qualifications**:
Becoming a valuable member of the site team you will assist and enable the Production Managers to reduce risks and implement best practice in HSE management

You will be engaged, hands-on, and passionate about safety and driving improvements in operations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct risk assessments and assist in the development of JSAs
- Assist others with creating SOPs
- Engage and support employees with hazard identification and risk management
- Enter HSE records into the reporting system
- Provide support with maintaining the Site Management Plan
- Work closely with and support the onsite safety committee members
- Assist with on-site HSE training and contractor management
- Support the HSE corporate team in the implementation of the HSE Management System to ensure that compliance requirements are met and exceeded at a site level
- Support site personnel with HSE activities and aid in developing internal skills and knowledge in HSE Management and practice
- Monitor HSE activities and provide advice to Operations personnel
- Facilitate accurate and effective HSE communication on-site through all means, including notice boards

Qualifications:

- Experience in a similar role
- Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety - highly desirable
- Experience implementing HSE management systems
- Understanding relevant national and state regulatory requirements
- High proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Professional and clear written & verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
- Flexibility and be adaptable to changes in the business
- Current Drivers Licence
