Hays is assisting a Local Government client based in Brisbane CBD who is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join the team on a temporary basis for 12 months.

**Your new role**

The role provides specialist advice, services and leadership on a broad range of employee relations issues to assist the organisation to successfully manage its diverse workforce. The role leads or supports in one or more of the following service delivery areas including project management, strategic planning and remuneration, government and improvement frameworks and best practice end to end management of employee relations processes.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and demonstrated experience in employee relations processes or appropriate equivalent skill standard gained through structured training and extensive employee relations, line management experience in a large complex organisation, or union experience.
- Demonstrated advanced ability to research and analyse issues and trends within and or across the employee relations service areas with the ability to develop appropriate strategies, tactics, interventions and innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver projects and interventions that deliver strategic and operational outcomes in the employee relations area.
- Highly developed skill and experience in some or all of the following areas including consultation, negotiation/mediation, networking, partnering, facilitation, dispute resolution, industrial advocacy and communication with demonstrated experience in engaging internal and external stakeholders to coach and influence change across the organisation.
- High level written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide information in a clear and easy to understand manner to a range of customers and stakeholders using a variety of mechanisms.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to team direction, take accountability in giving and receiving feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence.
