About the role
We have an exciting leadership opportunity based in a unique and modern clinical setting. We’re looking for an inspirational leader who has gained their experience leading medium
- or large-sized, or multi-disciplined teams, in a highly customer-focused environment. This could be from within customer-focused industries such as retail or hospitality, or you may be a nurse unit manager looking for a special opportunity to lead a great team delivering exceptional donor service.
We see this as a fantastic opportunity to deliver a supportive and safe experience to our amazing donors, while optimising efficiency and performance. As the Hobart Donor Centre’s senior leader and with the support of your leadership team, you will inspire your team to achieve collection targets and meet key performance indicators in order to deliver Australia’s supply of blood and blood products. Parallel to this, you will lead change by collaboration, direction and support for your team. Thriving on pace and adaptability, you will achieve common goals and foster team effectiveness with respect and empathy.
In this role, you’ll also have the organisational savvy and business acumen to navigate and manage complex issues, while developing constructive relationships to deliver business outcomes. You’ll be adept at using key financial indicators and metrics to guide decision making.

Demonstrated experience managing medium
- or large-sized teams in a structured environment
Strong people leadership skills, using human-centric and empathetic management approaches
Prior experience successfully taking teams on a journey and fostering excellent work cultures
A passion for coaching and developing people in an ever-transforming work environment
Motivation to lead and inspire a team to reach shared goals and key performance indicators
Positive nature, with the ability to empathise with donors and team members
Strong Excel knowledge, with the ability to dissect and interpret data accordingly
Highly committed to safety and quality
This role is a permanent, full-time opportunity, based at Hobart Donor Centre.
