**Dandenong Adult Community Mental Health Service (DACMHS)**

The DACMHS is a Monash Health public community service, catering for referred adults with a diagnosed psychiatric illness or disorder, within its catchment area. Clients are referred through the Psychiatric Triage Service and are received from various sources including acute inpatient services, General Practitioners, Private Psychiatrists, families, carers and other community representatives or agencies. This position is based at Dandenong Community Mental Health Service 145 Cleeland St, Dandenong, 3175. The service forms part of the Dandenong Adult Mental Health stream of the Mental Health Program.

General Description of Monash Health Grade 3 Social Worker Positions

Monash Health Social Workers have a tremendous range and depths of experience in servicing a complex patient/client population. Monash Health Grade 3 Social Worker are senior clinicians and have well-developed professional supervision skills. Grade 3 SW staff fulfil three main job duties. **They are expected to**:

- Provide evidenced based, best practice clinical services to patients/clients within their organisational unit. These clinical services are considered to require advanced knowledge and skills and effectively address the needs of patients/clients with chronic and/or complex presenting issues. They are also expected to provide secondary consultation to the unit team and a broad range of relevant stakeholders
- Provide Social Work supervision to Social Work Grade 2 and Social Work students staff/students and registrars within their cluster or across clusters within Monash Health
- Provide professional development activities, such as training and development program activities, implementing research or pilot projects associated with service development, including data collection and analysis and quality improvement activities within their work unit and for the profession of Social Worker across Monash Health

**What you need**:

- Bachelor of Social Work or Masters Social Work Qualifying OR Masters of Social Work, OR equivalent as assessed and approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Written evidence of eligibility for AASW membership for overseas qualifications is required.
- Accredited Social Worker and/or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker: As approved by the AASW
- Completion of a post graduate qualification in relevant field or working toward
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in the field of Social Work
- A valid Working with Children Check
- A valid Victorian Drivers Licence is essential
