Your Mission: *
As a User Experience Designer at Tyro you are responsible for driving the designs that will shape the experiences of our merchants, staff and partners. You are excellent at your craft, you are passionate about all aspects of design, including Service Design, UX Design and UI Design. You are passionate, commercial and pragmatic about the role of design. You will play a large role in the Digital & Platform team as we pursue our strategy for delivering innovative experiences, building out our digital sales capability and capabilities that allow our merchants to manage all aspects of their business with Tyro.

Your Responsibilities: *

Understand our customers, our products and our strategy: *
You will lead exploratory user research and synthesis. You explore and validate the customer segment and the potential problems to solve.
*
Collaborate with the business*: The Experience design team actively collaborate with the product managers, engineers and product leads across the business to drive a shared vision of the products we build.
*
Analyse what you’ve learned.* You will build user personas based on your research to help you identify the most important elements to solve the job to be done.
*
Design end to end experiences: *
Using both Service Design + UX Design partner with product managers and the broader business to prototype and define the end to end merchant experience including digital and non-digital touch points. You can develop low fidelity digital prototypes to execute pilots or user tests.
You will design by focusing on the on Service design, customer journey maps and screen flows, and we maintain an asset library for developers to consume.

Share your work and thinking with stakeholders:
- Communicate regularly with other teams and leadership about progress, your research, the designs, and the rationale of design choices.

Keep getting better*: You will pro-actively make suggestions for improvements on our existing designs, you will continue to monitor customer behaviour to understand if designs are working. We iterate and improve to make it work for our customers.

Experience/Skills: *
Minimum +5 years in similar role or equivalent.

Communication:
- you are able to articulate your thoughts clearly and explain the rationale of designs effectively with various stakeholders.
**Empathy**: You are empathetic which allows you to think about problems and solutions from the user’s point of view.
**Collaboration**: You work in harmony with your team, taking feedback, exploring solutions, and leveraging expertise.
**Critical thinking**: You are a critical thinker, you are able to challenge assumptions and find innovative solutions to problems.
**Research**: You are capable of all forms of user research including, interviews, surveys, and observation.
**Information architecture**: You are able to effectively analyse, prioritise and organise large sets of complex information.
**Prototyping**: You are able to use a variety of tools (e.g. Figma) to prototype to explore problems and iterate on solutions.
