**About the role**
This is a fixed-term 9 month contract (with possible extension), full-time (37.5 hours/week).
**About you**
The Acting Manager, Counselling Practice is responsible for the management of the Cancer Counselling Service. To be successful in this role, you will be a leader with strong organisational and planning skills. You will bring to the role strategic thinking, excellent communication skills with a comprehensive understanding of the issues faced by and a strong focus on clients affected by cancer.
**Experience, Knowledge and Skills**

**Essential Skills**:
- Hold registration as a psychologist with AHPRA, or professional membership of the AASW if a Social Worker.
- Experience in clinical or counselling psychology, preferably in oncology.
- Strong experience in the management of a team in a health environment.
**Desirable Skills**:
- Postgraduate tertiary qualifications in mental health or counselling is highly desirable.
- Financial management skills and experience.
- Proven ability to effectively manage administrative staff and work with teams of health professionals to maximise productivity.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain constructive professional networks.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including professional written communication.
- Proven ability to organise, manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to use initiative.
**Your Leadership Contribution**
CCQ has a Leadership Capability Framework which outlines the necessary capabilities of leaders at different leadership levels: Executive (CEO and GMs), Senior Managers, Managers, and Frontline Managers (Team Leaders and Senior Coordinators).
