**Who are we looking for?**

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Student Recruitment Officer to join Marketing and Communication, Chancellery Division.

The Student Recruitment Officer plays an important role in positioning QUT as a university of choice for prospective students. This is achieved through assisting the events team in delivery of on and off-campus recruitment events, and presentations and outreach to high schools and the general community.

**About the Chancellery Division**
Chancellery Division is responsible for strategy, including Indigenous strategy, government relations and policy, assurance and risk, international, marketing and communications, and business development. The Chancellery Division is led by the Vice-Chancellor and President.

**About the Department**
The Marketing and Communication Department is responsible for:

- Building and protecting QUT’s brand awareness and reputation;
- Engaging and recruiting future students;
- Ensuring communications from QUT are effective and of high professional standard.

As well as professional services provided to the university community, the Department is responsible for a variety of corporate communication functions and oversees relevant policies, protocols and governance arrangements.

**What you need to succeed**

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.

You will demonstrate:
1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a relevant degree in conjunction with subsequent relevant experience.

2. Excellent oral communication skills, in particular the ability to deliver dynamic presentations to engage a wide variety of audiences.

3. Demonstrated experience in coordinating events to a professional standard.

4. A high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to build positive relationships, and communicate and collaborate confidently with external clients, colleagues, staff at all levels of an organisation and suppliers.

5. Demonstrated strong time management and attention to detail, including the ability to coordinate a range of competing work demands to achieve specified objectives within agreed timelines with a minimum of supervision.

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing correspondence, presentations and other written material, and providing one-on-one advice to prospective students.

**Essential Requirements**
Current ‘C’ class (car) driver’s license, the physical ability to carry boxes of approximately 10kg weight, the availability to attend out of hours activities.
