The role supports the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) Australia and New Zealand, CRCO New Zealand and Head of Compliance in leading the execution of the Compliance Regulatory Affairs agenda and policies in Australia and New Zealand, and supports Regulatory Affairs as the central and primary contact for lead regulators (APRA, ASIC and AUSTRAC). The role also works closely across the entity to ensure effective oversight and provision of timely responses to regulatory change and regulatory engagements using our core systems across requests for information, reviews and meetings while supporting our interactions with industry groups.

This role has no direct or indirect reports.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Assist Regulatory Affairs in implementing best practice standards, policies and procedures.
- Work with the Head of Compliance and Chief Risk and Compliance Officer in AUS and NZ to ensure that AUS’s and NZ’s exposure to regulatory risks is managed, in a commercially sensitive, practical and cost-effective manner.
- Support with providing oversight and management of Compliance Risk within AUS and NZ.
- Manage interactions with regulators including reporting.
- Ensure clear compliance policies on new and evolving compliance risk are implemented effectively working alongside Risk & Compliance colleagues.
- Support processes for communicating proposals for regulatory change and regulatory trends.
- Work closely with Risk & Compliance including Financial Crime in providing specialist expert support in respect of Projects and Regulators.
- Help develop and implement training programs for management and their teams in AUS and NZ.
- Aid in creativity/innovation in implementing policies, providing solutions to complex issues and reporting Compliance issues.
Requirements

To be successful in the role you will need:

- Experience in compliance roles with strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory risks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders including external parties.
- Ability to adopt a tailored and effective communication style to varying levels of management.
- Strong inter-personal and influencing skills.
