**Your Role**:
The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the development and accomplishment of goals established for profit, growth, service and producer relations for all classes of business, while also contributing as a technical underwriter with respect to Financial Lines products. This role extends to fostering relationships with customers and brokers by demonstrating Chubb’s commitment to deploy its global coverage and risk management capabilities to meet the specialised needs of customers.
**Your Responsibilities**:
Achievement of the Personal Premium Budget
Underwriting Process / Analysis
- Assist in the positioning and negotiations associated with delivering profitable transactions to achieve financial plans for all applicable product lines.
- Follows established underwriting guidelines for Financial Lines products and within the scope of delegated authority, determines acceptability of new lines and renewals.
- Utilises appropriate endorsements and applies adequate pricing structure.
- Consults with LOB product managers on risks exceeding delegated authority.
- Provide technical leadership for underwriting/marketing in the LOB product including risk referrals and portfolio management; serves as a resource regarding unique coverage needs Consult with State Distribution Manager on retention and prospecting activity.
- Provide expertise in speciality line of business to customers, brokers and wider team.
- Maintains awareness of claim activity with assigned book and communicates with adjusters as needed.
- Monitors underwriting results and premium and loss trends.
- Oversees underwriting judgement and authority of less experienced members of staff.
Production / Relationship Management
- Identify, analyse and develop sources of desirable new business opportunities including cross-departmental opportunities.
- Cultivate “zero relationship” prospects and “one-line” accounts into future Chubb clients.
- Preparing, delivering and negotiating quotations.
- Actively participate in business development activities through regular team meetings.
- Build and maintain long term relationships with key producers and insureds; deals with producer principals on complex underwriting issues.
- Reviews performance reports, enforce accounts, and makes quality-control recommendations.
- Visits producers and insureds alone and with senior staff in order to communicate Chubb philosophy and increase market share.
