Disability Support Work involves assisting a range of clients with a variety of needs in a number of different ways.
**The Organisation**
My Supports is a well-established NDIS support provider with over 500 staff across five states. With a new CEO and ambitions to double our reach, we seek a talented Disability Support Worker to help us grow and thrive.

**The Role**
Working in Neighbourhood Teams in your very own community, under the direction of a Neighbourhood Team Leader, the Support Worker assists and supports our clients, in line with their NDIS plan, to achieve their goals through a person-centred approach of ‘choice and control’. The primary element of this role involves gardening. This is a mobile role working with a wide range of clients which requires the use of your own gardening equipment.
You will build firm and long-lasting relationships with clients, support staff and referring networks-enabling open communication and establishing a fun and supportive environment.
**Day to day duties may include (but are not limited to)**
- Assisting clients to complete and/or develop life-skills in household duties and yard/home maintenance, such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, budgeting etc;
- Transporting clients to appointments and/or shopping for and/or with client;
- Assisting clients in building client self-image and self-confidence;
- Assisting clients to access their local communities and attend appointments as required
- Promoting independence and well-being;
- Assisting clients with personal care and manual handling; including showering and bowel care;
- Monitoring clients’ behaviour, and oversee the implementation of their activities
- Maintain a high standard of incident reports, including submission of daily progress notes in keeping with the clients’ NDIS goals.
- Working within the NDIS guidelines and escalate relevant information to Team Leaders.
- An enthusiastic outlook, and a very open, friendly, bubbly personality;
- Their own gardening equipment;
- A compassionate and empathetic demeanour;
- Strong listening and oral communication skills and patience;
- Strong relationship-building skills;
- The ability to maintain clear professional boundaries;
- Experience with Personal Care (Desirable)
- Catheter and Bowel Care Experience (Desirable)
Hoist Experience (Desirable)

The locations for work will vary depending on the client(s) and their needs within the area. We are currently recruiting for the **Hilton WA region and surrounding suburbs**.
