The Communications and Administrative Support Officer is a critical role responsible for supporting the dynamic Industry Capability and Inclusion (ICI) team. Reporting to the Manager, Inclusion & Social Procurement, you will provide admin support to our fun & busy team as well as developing and coordinating communications materials to help promote the social impact achieved through the ICI function.
This role has two functions, admin support and communications support. You will need to be skilled in both
On a day-to-day basis you will be building and managing productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as:
- Providing admin support to the team to deliver our Diversity & Inclusive (D&I) programs, this includes diary management, inbox management, scheduling meetings & booking rooms, taking & distributing minutes, liaising with procurement and finance to successfully process invoices and other relevant documentation.
- Planning events - coordination of bookings, catering, and corresponding with vendors.
- Researching and writing high-quality communications material for reports, websites, etc, to showcase the social impact achieved on the project.
- Customer service and stakeholder engagement - you'll need to build rapport when you liaise with our wide range of stakeholders, including our strategic comms team, LXRP Alliances, industry partners, and the social enterprises and Aboriginal businesses that are part of our social procurement supply chain.
The Communications and Administrative Support Officer position is a 3-year fixed term contract, paying between $72,751 - $88,336 + super with a hybrid working arrangement. This includes a combination of working from home and the office in the CBD.

Let's get technical What will we expect from you?
- Demonstrated experience in program administration, event coordination and communications, in a fast-paced environment, involving a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, preferably in a government or infrastructure environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to produce high quality communications materials for a range of audiences.
- Proven skills in utilising and managing a range of business information systems and software, including maintenance of databases and use of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of inclusion, diversity, and social procurement practice and benefits, or a keen personal interest and willingness to learn
- An ability to recognise behaviours that promote a culture of inclusion and hold self and team accountable towards being inclusive to individuals from diverse background.
- Willingness to adhere by our CARES values - we value honesty and respect.
- Tertiary qualification in communications or community engagement (or equivalent work experience) will be highly regarded.
