**The Role**
Reporting directly to the site FSQ Manager the Food Safety Quality Technician will be responsible for the implementation of effective and efficient quality assurance systems to allow the operation to meet or exceed the levels of food safety and quality standards required by our customers and legislation.
This role will also maintain trust and integrity in the products and processes by independently, monitoring and verifying the quality system requirements in accordance with the documented system to ensure that safe, quality food is produced. Your main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
- Review, maintain, and implement food safety and quality documentation with a focus on hygiene best practices.
- Work with the QA Manager and other departments to drive quality improvements, reduce complaints, and optimise production.
- Verify HACCP and associated programs, and oversee internal audits to ensure regulatory and food safety compliance.
- Monitor and verify production activities to ensure product safety and quality standards are consistently met.
- Lead site hygiene performance, manage non-conformances, and drive corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for products not meeting microbiological specs.
- Support the management of hygiene-related suppliers and contractors
- Participate in HACCP team activities including traceability exercises, mock recalls, and product withdrawals.
- Assist with complaint resolution and manage non-conforming product holds in collaboration with the QA Manager.
- Help monitor spend on consumables and chemicals to ensure budget adherence and cost-effectiveness.
- Other ad hoc duties as per directed.

**The Person**
We are looking for someone with previous experience in this space who is passionate about Food Safety & Quality within manufacturing sites. To be successful in the role you will have the following:

- Degree Qualification or Tertiary qualification in Food Science/ Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of within related experience.
- Proven cross-functional knowledge of FMCG industry processes and methods.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Problem solver, flexible, able to adapt to new ways of working.
- Approachable and strong listening skills.
- High level of self-awareness and willingness to learn.
- Able to efficiently prioritise work and timely inform stakeholders on the progress.
