The EPA is a statutory authority with an independent, expertise-based governing Board that oversees and monitors the EPA. Current Board members have expertise in environmental law and science, corporate, financial and risk planning and management, business, compliance and regulation and Aboriginal cultural values.

**The role**

Members of the Board will contribute to the long-term strategic planning of the EPA, including governance and oversight of the EPA’s strategic direction and performance, and providing expert advice and support to the Minister, Chair and CEO on any matter relating to the protection of the environment.

**About you**

You will have substantial skills and experience, supported by relevant qualifications, in one or more of the following areas: human health; local government; stakeholder engagement and communications; or digital information and data management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to consult and influence at the highest levels of industry, government (including local government) and non-government sectors are essential.

The competence to contribute to effective decision making in a Board context and a sound understanding of the regulatory environment and environmental legislation, would be highly desirable. High level senior leadership and/or board experience and governance credentials, through experience or training such as the AICD course, will be well regarded.
