**The NSW Crime Commission**
is established to investigate and disrupt organised crime and other serious criminal activity and to pursue confiscation of the proceeds of crime. The Commission is structured into a number of sections consisting of operational divisions, support teams and specialist units. The function of conducting criminal investigations is assigned to the Commission’s Criminal Investigations Division. Investigations are typically conducted pursuant to a Management Committee reference to investigate or approval to work in cooperation with a joint task force comprising one or more of the Commission’s partner agencies. The Division is also responsible for the Commission’s Strategic Intelligence capability, the provision of specialist investigative support services and the provision of advice and recommendations to Government in relation to minimising the impact of serious and organised crime on the NSW community.

**About the role**
The Paralegal is responsible for providing sound administrative and paralegal assistance to support effective and efficient legal services within the Commission. The Paralegal may be assigned to the Legal Unit or an operational team (e.g. Financial Investigations).

**Essential Requirements**
- Paralegal or administrative experience in a high volume work environment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to provide high-level customer service and liaise effectively with legal professionals
- Sound research, analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent computer skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise a range of tasks for stakeholders at various levels
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with mínimal supervision
- Ability to deal with and maintain confidential and sensitive information with tact, discretion and judgement
- Ability to quickly acquire an understanding of the legal environment, court operations, relevant legislation, and related law enforcement agencies
- Understanding of the role and functions of the Commission.
