**The Role**
The APS 6 Logistics Team Leader will assist in the delivery of Defence's Logistic Compliance and Assurance Program. The position is located in Moorebank NSW, within Logistics Assurance Branch's Directorate of Logistics Assurance Programs.
The role will be resonsible to provide guidance on Supply Chain management policy, develop management action plans, liaise with other Government agenices, and assist both the Joint Logistic and Garrison Support Contract units towards achieving Supply Chain compliance. The successful applicant will have experience in policy interpretation and implementation. Additionally, relevant qualification in auditing principles and skill is an advantage; however, further training can be provided if required to the sucessful applicant.
Within the Logistics Management function an APS 6 Logistics Team Leader is acountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex logistics compliance and assurance work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
This position provides the Coordination function in scheduling audit activities across an established liability list of supported units.
**About our Team**
The Directorate of Logistics Assurance Programs (DLAP) is embedded within the Logistics Assurance Branch and provides the Commander of Joint Logistics with the capability to influence logistics performance across Defence. To do this, the Directorate monitors the health of the overall Defence logistics system at an organisational level.
DLAP is responsible for the overall management and technical control of the Defence Logistics Compliance and Assurance Framework which includes six independent assurance streams. The requirement across the streams include scheduling, coordination, and the execution and reporting of Defence's Inventory Assurance Sampling Programs annually.
The team is geographically dispersed across the country located in key Logistics Business Units. The main function is to provide compliance and assurance over Defence's Supply Chain policy through a sound governance regime.
As an APS 6 Logistics Team Leader you will be required to work independently with limited supervision in the delivery of the Supply Chain logistics testing program across supported dependencies.
Additionally you may be responsible to assist with the provision of guidance on Supply Chain management policy, the development of management action plans, and liaising with other Government agencies. You will have relevant experience in Logistics Lead Auditing functions and a sound understanding of electronic supply chain management systems.
You will have strong leadership, mentoring, administrative and organisational skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at various organisational levels across multiple teams. You will be able to operate in a dynamic environment where multiple activities occur simultaneously with tight deadlines.
Knowledge of Defence logistics information systems would be advantageous.
