UP Education has an exceptional opportunity for a Finance Officer to work within one of our large private higher education entities in Melbourne.

This role is predominantly office-based (especially within the first 3 months).

**About the role**

Reporting into the entity CFO in Melbourne, with a dotted line into the Group Financial Controller in New Zealand, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of the organization and ensuring financial integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Processing student refunds
- Process payment to creditors
- Processing staff reimbursements
- Bank reconciliations
- Ad-hoc support to CFO

**Applications and Key Selection Criteria**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related field
- Experience in higher education or a highly regulated and complex work environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulatory requirements
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
