**About Your Role**
Our Eagle Farm site is the beating heart of operations for Thales' range of protected vehicles, which protect Australian soldiers in the field. At this site we provide a range of offering engineering and general maintenance services to ensure our soldiers remain safe. Our team have an unrivalled passion for what we do, our Support operations are pivotal to the ongoing success of both our Bushmaster and Hawkei platforms.
Our Services and Support delivery team is currently seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to join our team in Eagle Farm, Queensland. The Inventory Controller is dedicated to controlling and managing customer and Thales Protected Vehicles (PRV) inventory stock holdings, manage cycle counting and stock takes, and acting as a 2IC to the Warehouse Manager.
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inventory Management, Warehousing and Distribution
- Managing the distribution and placement of inventory
- Identifying quality shortcomings contributing to turnover of specific items
- Coordinate in/outbound inventory movements from Service locations
- Coordinate inventory transfer to satisfy scheduled maintenance activities
- Managing the daily Cycle Counting of Customer & Thales owned inventory
- Ensure MILIS and Thales transactions are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure inventory is managed on the basis of First In First Out (FIFO)
- Investigate inventory count discrepancies and take corrective action
- Work with Production Planner in coordinating Warehouse Production Orders
- Proactively managing customer relationships (both internal and external)
- Ensure all warehousing & distribution activities are carried out in accordance with company policy
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- APICs Certification in Production and Inventory Management or equivalent
- Forklift and Driver Licence
- 5 years’ experience in project or maintenance planning/scheduling or similar
- Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain principles and procedures
- Experience in inventory forecasting and management
- Understanding of Basic Cycle Counting & Stock taking principles
- Broad Knowledge of MRP II planning systems
- A high level of interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in programmed support planning and scheduling
- Knowledge of OH&S requirements within the workplace.
- Practical knowledge of Distribution Requirements Planning tools & techniques
- Understanding of Defence user community and associated operational environment, policies & procedures would be ideal but not essential
**Good to Know**
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
Prior to offer you’ll complete a pre-employment police and medical check. Thales also complies with current public health orders in place and as such you may be requested to provide your COVID-19 vaccination record.
