We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Merchandise Planner to join our team in Sydney. As a Merchandise Planner, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our business by effectively managing inventory, analyzing sales data, and developing strategic merchandise plans to optimize sales and profitability.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise plans in collaboration with the Buying team to support sales, margin, and inventory goals.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and product performance to forecast demand and identify opportunities for growth.
- Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for replenishment, markdowns, and promotions to maximize sell-through and minimize excess stock.
- Partner with the Buying team to plan and execute product assortments that align with customer preferences, brand strategy, and financial objectives.
- Conduct regular sales and inventory analysis to identify risks and opportunities, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize assortment and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations, to ensure seamless execution of merchandise plans and initiatives.
- Prepare and present merchandise plans, forecasts, and performance reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

**To be successful you will ideally have the following**:

- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in merchandise planning, retail buying, or inventory management, preferably within the fashion industry
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel and other planning tools. Experience with XLCubed, TM1 or TRS is favourable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence decision-making
- Proven track record of driving results through strategic planning, forecasting, and inventory optimization
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and solution-focused mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Passion for fashion and a deep understanding of consumer behaviour and market trends
