The Opportunity
Reporting to the Injury Management & Wellbeing Manager, the Return to Work (RTW) & Injury Management Adviser manages the early interventions to help injured workers achieve the best possible recovery of their health, in addition to ensuring that team members are supported during their return to work after a workplace injury.

The RTW & Injury Management Adviser is integral to the HSE team and uses strong stakeholder engagement skills to work closely alongside City team members, managers/supervisors, regional HSE managers and medical practitioners to support injured team members. The role will be responsible for providing guidance and using industry expertise and knowledge to improve processes and outcomes related to injury prevention, injury management and return to work.

As a Return to Work & Injury Management Adviser you are expected to:

- Develop and implement proactive workers compensation and injury management systems to facilitate and improve return to work outcomes and minimise lost time
- Implement early intervention strategies to minimise cost of claims and return injured workers to active employment as soon as possible
- Manage workers compensation claims by regular contact with workers and the Insurer and maintaining up-to date records, confidential files, documentation reports and statistics
- Actively liaise with regulatory and insurance authorities and rehabilitation providers to ensure that City is meeting statutory obligations and seeking best practice outcomes
- Assist with the development and delivery of relevant projects and initiatives & ensure all documentation is completed in a confidential and timely manner

**To be considered for this role you will have / be**:

- Return to Work Coordinator Training
- Allied Health background and qualification is highly desirable
- Experience managing workers compensation claims, injury management and return to work programs.
- Experience implementing workers compensation and injury management processes, procedures and programs.
- Experience in assisting with the implementing Health and Well being initiatives.
- Ability to analyse data and prepare reports for senior management.
- Excellent ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the business and ability to work autonomously and as part of a high performing team.
- Experience working with HR Information Systems and Health and Safety Management Systems is highly desirable.
