An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Clinical Nurse Educator to join the Nursing Education team for a part time 4 day a week role. This role encompasses the support of learners across the Renal service including Graduate nurse program participants and Postgraduate students, undertaking the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice-Renal. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the wider CNE Medical Services Education Team, and the satellite dialysis and ward 7 North nursing teams.
7 North is a 24-bed unit, located on level 7 of Austin Tower that cares for patients with all aspects of renal failure. It offers staff the opportunity to develop specialist skills including the care of a patient on peritoneal dialysis or immediate post renal transplant care, and caring for the acutely unwell renal patient. Patients are admitted with vascular access problems, acute renal failure, chronic renal failure complications of renal failure and renal transplant.
Austin Health’s Renal service comprises 7N, acute in-centre dialysis, home training unit and 3 satellite units.’ Renal patients requiring renal replacement therapies including haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, haemodiafiltration, ultrafiltration and plasma exchange are accommodated.
