Warehouse Operator

**Position Description**

**Job title: DC Warehouse team member**

**Reporting to: Warehouse Supervisor**

Purpose and scope of the position

To ensure the correct processing of incoming and outgoing stock in keeping with the required quality standards and documentation.

Responsibilities & duties

**Warehouse Procedures**
- Ensure incoming suppliers have relevant paperwork (invoices) prior to unloading the truck
- Write all incoming invoices onto the Incoming Goods Movement sheets
- Ensure stock delivered from suppliers matches delivery documentation
- Ensure stock is quality checked and then received in the system (scanned)
- Sign the invoices and return them to Receival immediately
- Move stock to designated storage areas, ensuring that stock movements are recorded (scanned) in the system
- Label products if necessary
- Ensure correct picking of products, quality checks and scanning is conducted when picking goods
- Assist loading home delivery trucks, ensuring that all stock is double checked and quality checked prior to loading
- Minimise damages whilst picking or putting stock away
- Assemble products when required
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment used and correct handling of such equipment. Where equipment failure occurs ensure this is notified to the Warehouse Supervisors or Manager
- Ensure safety checks on forklifts/stock pickers are carried out before use and the forklift/stock picker is used in accordance with standard operating procedures

**Stock Maintenance**
- Ensure all goods delivered and received comply with OMF quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness of designated aisles on a daily basis
- Assist with Cycle Counting as required
- Report all stock damages to the Inventory team
- Ensure stock is moved carefully around the warehouse

**Forklift / Order Picker Maintenance and Safety**
- Pre-work checks on forklifts, order pickers and turret trucks
- Report any maintenance issues requiring repair
- Ensure batteries are changed safely when they reach 20%, and that forklifts are charged at the end of the day
- Ensure keys are always removed when equipment is not in use

**General Responsibilities**
- Perform ad hoc duties and support other departments when required
- Observe and adopt the company values
- Maintain regular communication with customers
- Maintain confidentiality
- Perform other tasks and duties as may be required by management to meet business requirements

**Ensure high level of driver safety at all times, including**:

- Pedestrian safety
- Awareness of blind corners
- Observing aisle and opening widths and height clearances
- Consideration of load type being carried (flammable, unstable, fragile etc)
- Consideration of surroundings and work areas
- Only operate machinery when confident and in a fit condition
- Always wear a harness on order pickers

**Care of Stock**
- Ensure stock is moved carefully around the warehouse, including:

- Checking the load is stable
- The load can be deposited safely
- The stock is loaded safely onto a pallet and that the fork tines are centred and not protruding beyond the pallet or the load
- Stock must be shrink wrapped from and including level 4 within narrow aisles and level 3 outside of narrow aisles

**Regulations and Procedures**
- Observe a safe speed limit
- Hold current license or Trainee logbook
- Correct driving practices on ramps and inclines
- No passengers on moving machinery except for two-man order pickers
- No lifting of persons on forklift tines
- Change gas bottle in an approved manner
- Protective clothing as required
- Correct parking of machine at all times

**Environmental Health and Safety**
- Take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and others
- Follow all safety instructions
- Comply with the OMF Work, Health and Safety system
- Comply with the OMF return to work program
- Report all hazards to supervisors immediately
- Report all incidents Donesafe within 24 hours
- Cooperate on safety related matters and training
- Not interfere or misuse items provided for the purpose of health and safety

Work experience & Technical skills

2 to 3 years’ experience in a warehousing environment

Desire to achieve, meet and exceed targets

Forklift and Stock Picker license

**Salary**: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
