**How will I help?**
As the Executive Manager, Credit and Advanced Analytics, Model Risk **, **you will work closely with General Managers in the Risk team and with the Heads of modelling team. You will have the following responsibilities:
- Manage the team responsible for independently validating credit risk, algorithmic trading, machine learning models and other enterprise models, as required. This will cover all credit models, including, for example: retail and non-retail IRB models, IFRS-9, credit scorecards and stress testing; algorithmic trading models as per MiFiD and RT-6; advanced analytics models, including validation of machine learning models such as XGBoost, Neural Networks, Natural language Processing and other related architectures.
- Ensure all independent validation is delivered to a high quality, and within the times frames set by the business and Westpac policy.
- Represent the Head of Model Risk at Credit Model Design Council and Project Advisory Groups
- Oversee Model Risk attendance at other forums, including model monitoring working groups.
- Contribute to policy and reporting as it relates to credit, machine learning and algo trading models.
- Ensure all validation outcomes are effectively communicated to calculation owners and the approver.
- Establish healthy working relationships with Credit Risk, the Data Science team, the algorithmic trading business, prudential supervisors, internal and external Audit.
- Deliver process improvements, including automation in relation to validation workflows.
- Lead, coach and provide technical support to a team of analysts with a clear focus on building bench strength.

**What do I need?**
You will have excellent tertiary qualifications in a finance, mathematics, engineering or technology discipline and good level of experience credit risk in finance and/or risk including managing a broad scope of responsibilities with an execution and continuous improvement focus.
Having demonstrable programming, modelling or data science knowledge is preferable.
