Our clients are seeking a talented and experienced CG Supervisor to join their small but dynamic VFX studio in Sydney. As a CG Supervisor, you will play a key role in leading their team of artists and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality visual effects projects. This is an onsite role, and applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead and manage a team of CG artists, providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of visual effects projects.
- Work closely with the VFX Producer and other department heads to establish project goals, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Collaborate with the production team to plan and allocate resources effectively, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Oversee the technical aspects of CG production, including pipeline development, tool creation, and workflow optimization.
- Provide hands-on support and technical expertise in Houdini, demonstrating a strong understanding of simulation, dynamics, and procedural animation.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to ensure the smooth operation of the CG pipeline.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering creativity, innovation, and teamwork among the CG team.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating new techniques and tools into the production pipeline as appropriate.
**Requirements**:
- Strong hands-on skills in Houdini, with a solid understanding of particle systems, fluid simulations, rigid body dynamics, and procedural modelling.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a VFX pipeline, with a track record of successfully delivering high-quality visual effects projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with artists, producers, and other department heads.
- A passion for visual effects and a commitment to staying current with the latest industry trends and technologies.
