**About the role**

NSW Reconstruction Authority is seeking a strategic and agile leader to join us as Manager, Disaster Adaptation Plan Coordination (DAPCO). In this high-impact role, you’ll lead complex planning initiatives that strengthen disaster resilience across NSW, with a focus on the Northern Rivers. You’ll drive cross-sector collaboration, manage key stakeholder relationships, and ensure strong governance frameworks underpin the program.

- Lead the development of the Northern Rivers Disaster Adaptation Plan, ensuring strategic alignment and stakeholder collaboration within defined scope, timelines, and budget.
- Manage project delivery, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and governance, while promoting policy compliance.
- Develop targeted engagement approaches in partnership with regional teams and communications specialists.
- Work closely with technical experts, councils, and agencies to embed data-driven insights and hazard analysis into planning processes.
- Monitor and mitigate project risks and reputational concerns, providing timely guidance and strategic advice to the Director.

**About You**

You will have the ability to think strategically, collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders, and be comfortable with ambiguity.

Proven experience with managing disaster/emergency initiatives is key for this role. This will be complemented by your expertise in managing stakeholders within a politically sensitive context that has competing priorities and constrained resources.

**Essential Requirements**
- Proven experience in project management within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engagement initiatives and build trusted relationships.
- Knowledge of governance frameworks and experience in managing governance processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation and executive agency of the Premier’s Department, that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.
