Melbourne Grammar School is committed to nurturing future First Nations leaders, and to ensuring all members of the Melbourne Grammar community value and respect the strength of First Nations culture.

The First Nations Program Manager plays an essential role in achieving this goal by collaborating with Teachers and School Leadership to provide real educational opportunities and hands-on experiences to explore and to celebrate First Nations culture and history.

This role also provides stewardship of the First Nations Scholarship Program and provides support for the recipients of this program and their families.

**You will be responsible for**
- building the School's capacity to become a leading school in terms of First Nations education and engagement.
- assisting the development and implementation of programs across the School that acknowledge and appreciate the strengths of First Nations culture.
- reviewing the Melbourne Grammar School Reconciliation Action Plan.
- supporting recipients of the First Nations Scholarship and their families, ensuring connection to kin and country.
- collaborating with the Director of Boarding to ensure the Boarding Precinct is a culturally safe place for First Nations students where they feel a strong sense of belonging.

**You will be**
- knowledgeable and understanding of First Nations culture, traditions and education.
- able to build trusting and effective relationships with students, staff and community.
- an influencing advocate across our School and within our community to support a truly inclusive and diverse workplace environment.
- willing to travel to support First Nations Program.
- able to demonstrate an understanding of the Child Safety Standards and the implementation of successful initiatives to support them.

The role is based in our Senior School at our South Yarra campus.
