**About the Role**:
The Team Leader, Conservation and Mining leads the development and implementation of departmental policy and strategies in relation to exploration and mining activities in protected areas and other sensitive environments.

This includes working with mining, resources and energy regulators and entities within the industry to ensure mining, resources and energy sector projects meet protected area legislative requirements and adequately protect conservation and heritage values.

The position leads a small team of staff who work closely with regional teams and specialists to provide high level advice. The Team Leader will represent the department in onground inspections in protected areas, including remote areas of the State.

Ongoing

**Special Conditions**:

- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- A current Class C driver's licence, and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4WD, is essential.
- Intra-state travel will be required, including field work in remote locations, work outside of normal hours of duty and occasional overnight absences.

**Remuneration**:
ASO8 $121,107 min - $125,679 max p.a.
