**About the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO)**
The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is a statutory body established under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW) to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in NSW have access to affordable, quality housing.
The AHO is governed by an all-Aboriginal Board, and prides itself on having majority Aboriginal staff. The AHO works alongside Aboriginal organisations and communities to support the Aboriginal housing sector and deliver policies and programs that result in positive outcomes for communities across NSW.

**Your role**
A great opportunity is available within the Aboriginal Housing Office to provide a regional lead in promoting and coordinating home ownership opportunities with Aboriginal people seeking to enter home ownership. You will be responsible for administering the home ownership grants as well as leading the engagement activities across a large regional footprint, to raise awareness of Home Ownership Opportunities for Aboriginal people.
**What you’ll do**
You’ll work in a high-performing team that works across all AHO teams.
You will build strong relationships and work in partnership with other key government agencies and various internal and external stakeholders. It’s an interesting and diverse role providing support and exposure to many different areas of the AHO.
**You will also**:
- Be responsible for the design and delivery of a 12-month calendar of events across the region to ensure the AHO reaches its target of 80 Home Ownership opportunities each financial year.
- Be innovative in the delivery of engagement activity with all stakeholders, including the use of technology where appropriate and provide support to Aboriginal home buyers with signposting and education.
- Administer the AHO Home Buyer Saver grants program, requiring high levels of probity.
- Provide accurate and up to date data and analysis on the delivery of the AHO Home Ownership Program including establishing and maintaining core internal and external data sets to meet the analysis and reporting needs of the organisation.
- Prepare a range of project-related documents for key stakeholders as required, including status updates, reports, budgets, and discussion papers to manage the flow of information.
- Lead specific projects as directed by Program Manager; Home Ownership, to support the broader program.
- As directed, work with community partners to deliver on shared outcomes in line with Closing the Gap.
- Seek out and actively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships based on open and regular discussions and feedback, to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation team to ensure a co-ordinated approach to region-based asset services, assessment, and reporting.
- Ensuring high quality delivery, across a large geographical footprint with diverse communities, in an environment characterised by conflicting priorities and multiple stakeholders.
- Identifying emerging issues and suggesting potential improvements to business processes and workflows in consultation with external and internal stakeholders in an environment of ongoing change.
- Maintain an understanding of the housing market in the region, including horizon scanning for risks, issues and opportunities related to the AHO Home Ownership Program.
**What we’re looking for**
- Extensive experience in building and maintaining relationships, work to deadlines with high probity.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of Aboriginal Culture and an excellent understanding of Aboriginal community governance and structures.
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is an essential requirement for this role. The role has been identified as requiring this check in line with the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012.
- Ability to work autonomously with attention to detail.
- Have a valid NSW drivers licence and willing to travel.
