**About the role**
The Aquatics Team Leader will be the link between Leisure Service Officers and Coordinators to ensure smooth operations on Pool Deck.
Not only will you supervise the Lifeguard staff, but you will also be required to perform the role of a Lifeguard, Senior Lifeguard and Duty Manager on a regular basis, as well as deliver high-quality customer service to patrons using the aquatics facility.

Key responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership to a team of lifeguards to ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service to patrons using the Aquatic areas of the centre.
- Assist the Aquatic Operations Coordinator with the daily operations of the Aquatics facilities including plant and pool maintenance, staff supervision, customer service, and safety of staff and patrons.
- Ensure that pool equipment and surrounds are maintained in appropriate condition at all times.
- Ensure the water quality of the swimming pools is maintained in accordance with the Health Department Regulations and perform routine pool plant maintenance.
- Assist in the development and management of Aquatic staff rosters to ensure that all operational needs are planned for.
- Attend to general aquatic operational needs.
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have several years of front-line experience in an aquatic environment, adopt a ‘Safety First’ approach to your work, be solutions focused and thrive in a collaborative team environment. Utilising your interpersonal skills, you will enjoy engaging with a diverse range of people, being able to effectively communicate expectations to staff and community members and have the ability to navigate and resolve challenging conversations.
Essential Experience:
- Experience supervising or guiding staff.
- Experience in a customer service environment, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- Good understanding and knowledge and experience of Aquatic pool plant operations and delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation of innovative procedures.
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate, Pool Lifeguard Certificate & a current Working with Children’s Check.
