We are seeking 2 Production Leading Hands for our manufacturing site in Geelong. The main purpose of the role is to work alongside and support the production team One position is for Day Shift and the other is on the Afternoon Shift

**Our client is an Australian owned manufacturing company. Based in Geelong that process and package Dairy products for in Geelong for distribution in the Geelong and Greater Melbourne area**

We are seeking 2 Production Leading Hands for our manufacturing site in Geelong. The main purpose of the role is to work alongside and support the production team

One position is for Day Shift and the other is on the Afternoon Shift

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, Key Responsibilities of this position will include but not limited to:

- Participating and providing input in pre-start meetings.
- Work order closure using the company manufacturing planning system (UNITY) for butter and milk production builds.
- Interpret product runs and follow any special instructions.
- Carry out trouble shooting for escalations as per established procedures.
- Lead and direct the team in completing necessary tasks such as bringing in trolleys, tipping waste into IBC's or completing paperwork.
- Manage adherence to break times for team members.
- Carry out accurate stock counts and report production numbers accurately daily.
- Develop knowledge of all areas of production including milk filling & bottle labelling, milk processing and butter production.
- Carry out Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) walks and provide feedback to the team on areas of improvement.
- Check accuracy of milk packing paperwork daily and follow up on any issues.
- Report any OH&S issues in the safety management portal.
- Conduct safety walks and risk assessments.
- Proactively encourage the team to report any hazards.
- Promote and encourage safe work practices for the team.
- Proxy for Production Supervisor in their absence.

Training will be provided to increase the skills over time regarding product knowledge, and site-specific procedures but below are some of the requirements for the positions which are ideal for these roles but not mandatory.
- Relevant food industry experience including HACCP/GMP knowledge.
- A sound technical aptitude and or experience in operating and troubleshooting packing equipment (Case packer/ palletiser/ stretch wrappers/ conveyor systems) will be highly regarded.
- The ability to accurately follow detailed work and quality procedures
- Previous supervisory/team leader experience is desired.
- A flexible work attitude.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Forklift experience & relevant food handling certificates would be considered an advantage
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- Take Initiative.
- Able to work as part of a team

Day Shift hours are 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday - Friday,

Afternoon Shift 2pm - 10pm Monday - Friday with occasional weekends and overtime as required.
