**Traffic Escort Warden **(for 6 months project).

**Key job responsibilities include**:

- Escorting large oversize loads, often at slow speeds with most of the day spent in the vehicle.
- Extensive regional travel and traffic escorts may **work away from home for up to 2 weeks** at a time.
- Stopping and directing traffic where necessary, always ensuring safety.
- Working alone and using initiative in problem solving and decision making.
- Conducting traffic escorts in an efficient and effective manner to ensure safety and to minimize disruption to the normal traffic flow.
- Communicating effectively with a broad cross section of the transport sector and the public.
- Reviewing heavy vehicle permits to ensure all conditions are met and taking action to address any shortfalls.
- Compiling written reports as required like post trip, incident/accident reporting etc.

**To be successful in this role you will need**:

- Ability to drive long distances up to **15 hours per day**.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad cross section of the transport sector and the public.
- Ability to operate a laptop and knowledge of Microsoft Office to complete job paperwork.
- Class C Driver's License.
- Experience in Traffic Management.
- Knowledge of the State Road network (Desirable).
