**We have an opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join our Food Services team at The Wesley Hospital in a permanent, full-time position.**

Joining our team as a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for the procurement of provisions and goods for the Food Services Department.- Receiving, receipting and distributing goods, you will also be responsible for stock management, the purchasing of goods and services from approved vendors within allocated budgets and stakeholder support throughout the purchasing process.- This role may also see you supporting other areas of the Food Services Department, therefore full flexibility and a willingness to be adaptable is essential for the successful applicant.**You will need**:

- Entry level food safety for the Health & Community sector - HLTFSE001
- Current LF (forklift) License
- 2+ years’ experience working in a supply environment
- Intermediate computer literacy skills, including SAP data entry
- Experience in computerised purchasing and inventory control systems
- Ability to communicate (written and verbally) effectively within a team environment
- Excellent time management skills

**Minimum Physical Requirements**:

- The Purchasing Officer position, requires a degree of physical fitness. This may include lifting kitchen equipment and/or pushing heavy trolleys throughout the kitchen and hospital environment:
- Walking/standing - Constantly (67-100%)
- Ability to push heavy trolleys - Frequently (34-66%)
- Ability to lift and carry trays (5-9kg) - Frequently (34-66%)
