**About the team**:
The Legal Metrology Branch (LMB) administers Australia’s legislative and regulatory framework that underpins measurements and measuring instruments used for trade and legal purposes. We provide confidence in measurement across the economy and a level playing field for consumers, businesses, government entities and international trade.
As a section within the LMB, the Programs and Governance Team (P&G) supports the delivery of a diverse range of business enabling activities. These include operational and administrative support, national compliance program research, development and review, corporate reporting, business planning / reporting, and asset management. The team has oversight and accountability for managing the responsibilities associated with safety and corporate risks on behalf of the branch.
**The opportunity**:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Programs and Governance, the Team Leader Governance is responsible for managing the support officer team, together with providing operational assistance to the Assistant Manager, Programs & Governance, and contributes to the successful operation and achievements of the Programs & Governance section and the greater Legal Metrology Branch.
They display excellent judgement, possess highly developed relationship building and liaison skills and the capacity to work well with others. They show initiative and have the capacity to work independently to lead projects and deliver outcomes with mínimal guidance.

**What you will do**:
As an APS Level 6 Team Leader Governance, you will:
- supervise the virtual support officer network and disseminate work to individuals within the team.
- manage support duties including organising, scheduling, and coordinating of tasks to accommodate competing and changing priorities.
- support individuals to achieve their personal and team performance indicators and provide regular feedback.
- provide specialist administrative advice to the support officers, on the interpretation of Departmental policies, plans and procedures.
- liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the efficient delivery of corporate services including fleet vehicles and property.
- coordinate major procurement purchases and manage the payment of invoices.
- undertake specialist project work to assist in the operation of branch activities.
- manage, coordinate, and arrange domestic and international travel and acquittal of expenses.

The Programs and Governance Section has staff located in NMI and departmental offices around Australia, including, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
