**About the Role**

As the Health Information Manager (HIM) you will work as part of our Medical Records Department, supporting the Hospital in the delivery of safe contemporary care to patients by providing and supporting secure, reliable, efficient, fit for purpose Medical Records solutions to facilitate a convenient and comfortable patient journey through the hospital.

To be successful in the role you will need to contribute to the Medical Records environment by:

- The formulation, implementation and delivery of a Medical Records Department service
- Ensuring all services optimise and enhance efficiencies and patient-centred performance
- Ensuring all services are provided in accordance with organisational, financial, operational, privacy and quality standards
- Ensuring activities of Medical Records Department enhances the Hospital’s brand and reputation
- Introducing, reviewing and optimising policies and systems delivering Medical Records Department, compliance and risk mitigation
- Delivering business information enabling traceability, early identification and responsiveness of business improvement opportunities.

**We are looking for**
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Health Information Management, eligibility for membership of Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) or a recognised qualification in Clinical Coding.
- Several years of experience in health information services
- Experience in the leadership and management of staff with a proven ability to motivate people to achieve outcomes
- Experience in implementing and controlling budgets, resources and governance processes
- Excellent skills in facilitating business planning and establishing dashboard performance measures
- Possess effective interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), time management, planning and organisational skills.

**Desirable**:

- Intermediate ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS;
- Experience in PiMS and Codexpert or similar coding software
