**The business**
This modern manufacturing organisation provides building products to the construction industry and is a key player in large infrastructure and buildings industry. Based down near Sunnybank, this role will provide you a diverse working environment travelling to multiple sites, working from the office and also home. Looking after the QLD region, you will interface with the workers and will be mentored and developed by the wider Fitness for Work and HSE team.
This self insured business will see you work across injury management, return to work liaise with their third party claim company on a regular basis.
**The role**
The primary purpose of the role is to provide specialist support to the QLD business units to effectively implement Self-Insurance and Fitness for Work activities for their employees. This role is responsible for supporting and assisting business units to proactively manage their injured workers and address any issues that impact safe work participation. This includes advice and assistance in relation to both work related injuries and non-work related conditions.
The Self-Insurance and Fitness for Work Advisor will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to develop skills and embed injury management competencies within business units. The role will work with local sites and operations, within 90 mins of Brisbane, to implement fitness for work initiatives and co-ordinate rehabilitation, return to work and workers compensation claims activities.
Day to day activities will focus around:
- Injury management and prevention strategies
- Claims management in association with a third party Claims Manager
- Support the maintenance and management of the self insurance licence with the support of the wider team
- Business partnering with the QLD business through collaboration out at the sites
- Stakeholder management through training and development
**The individual**
- Tertiary qualification in Allied Health / WHS
- Minimum of 3 years experience working within a claims, injury management or occupational rehab environment
- Strong consulting and relationship management
- Workers compensation claims management experience in QLD
- Passion to mentor staff and implement initiatives to gain better understanding around WHS
