**This role offers a committed, career-driven individual an opportunity to work with a leading national operator of power generation and cogeneration.**

Supporting the Portfolio Manager, you will undertake analysis and modelling to develop the hedging strategy for gas, electricity and renewable products.

**This role will involve supporting both Portfolio Management and Finance requirements as follows**:

- Undertake analysis and modelling to quantify financial forecasts for the Portfolio Management Business Unit
- Perform analysis and develop methodologies to enhance the Portfolio Management Business Unit hedging strategy for electricity and gas
- Undertake analysis to track and explain Portfolio Management Business Unit performance in its hedging strategy.
- Undertake analytical and financial modelling support to the Portfolio Management Business Unit in regards to tactical and strategic decision making and structuring of complex transactions.
- Proactive participation in Portfolio Management Projects, including, modelling, decision support and ensuring financial integrity

**Required Qualifications & Experience**
- Degree or equivalent in Business/Economics, Commerce, Finance, Engineering or similar discipline relevant to the operations of the electricity supply industry (essential)
- Detailed understanding of trade modeling, straight through processing, electricity pricing curves, general systems configuration
- Ability to engage Front Office staff (Trades, Quants, Managers etc)
- Business and Functional Requirements Specification skills - gathering and documenting
- Good understanding of financial derivative instruments and associated pricing methods as well as fundamental market modelling in electricity and related markets
- Strong quantitative background to continually analyse the portfolio and market conditions to assist with the development of a robust commodity hedging strategy that is accurately reflected in the business plan
- Experience and high proficiency in sourcing and analysing data to formulate pricing, hedging and business decisions
- Experience and proficiency in a programming language is desirable. Python, VBA and SQL is a must
