Hazmat Consultant

Our client is a NATA and ISO certified consultancy, with headquarters located in Perth, and an office in Sydney, that services the mining, oil and gas industries, and government across Australia. They are specialists in providing occupational hygiene, environment, hazmat and training support and solutions for their client base.

They are looking for an experienced HazMat consultant in Perth. Ideally, they will be members of the AIOH who have the relevant state required certifications / licences.

The role

Conducting health and hygiene risk assessments
- Creating health and hygiene management plans
- Experience and skills in the operation and execution of industry related equipment e.g. for fibre, dust, weld fume and volatile organic compound sampling
- Project management skills: planning, preparing, and executing hygiene monitoring programmes
- Experience in researching HazMat issues and providing pragmatic solutions to their clients

Sound microscope and asbestos report writing skills
- Sound understanding of asbestos sampling strategies
- High attention to detail
- Sound time management and organisational skills
- High degree of flexibility with working arrangements, site travel according to client requirements is required (FIFO)
- Be mentored by principal consultants and to mentor technicians

Qualifications (essential)

PTA Certification (be certified to count asbestos fibres)
- IP402 course (surveying of asbestos containing materials in buildings)
- Licensed Asbestos Assessor

Qualifications (desirable)

Other qualifications in a science or related discipline is desirable
- IP403 - Asbestos Fibre Counting (PCM)
- IP404 - Air Monitoring, Clearance Inspections and Reoccupation Following the Removal of Asbestos
- IP405 -Asbestos Management in Buildings
- W504 - Asbestos and Other Fibres
- Cert IV in Training and Assessing
- State based certification as required

**Salary**: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
